The annual Macmillan Cancer Support Big Fish competition was held at Broom Fisheries, Annan, on Saturday and £4,300 was raised for the charity by 37 anglers who competed in fly fishing and coarse fishing events.
There were four specially tagged rainbow trout in the waters this year with secret prizes attached, and Rob Jarman from Penrith managed to catch one of them during the six hour session which netted him a £300 cash prize.
The heaviest bag winner was Hagen Patterson from Thornhill, who had 10 fish weighing 25lbs 1oz, and the biggest fish prize was won by Sandy Kirkpatrick from Annan with a beautiful rainbow at 3lbs 4ozs. Sandy, a well known local fisherman, also won the prize for the most money collected in sponsorship for the event.
