It’s third tier soccer again for United

Sad but true, it’s third tier football at least for another season.

After another now familiar roller coaster season our beloved club has failed itself and its paying customers by failing to live the dream and climb up through the ranks to the Championship.

The last action of the campaign was a bitter pill for all to swallow. After a breathtaking win at Eland Road in the first leg, the lifeblood slowly ebbed away in the return.

Everybody will have a theory as to what went wrong.

Why we played so abysmally at Millwall, which effectively ended any hopes of automatic promotion, when the players apparently looked as if they hadn’t met each other till that morning.

Why, or even how, could we then play so well against Leeds in round one of this duel?

Mystifying and, in the end, very disappointing for all those supporters who were sure this was it: The Blues were going up.
