Manager’s comments out of order

Carlisle's manager’s comments in the News and Star on May 15 left me somewhat bewildered.

He said he couldn’t replicate a high tempo like Monday’s at Leeds.

Why not?

Surely the players were on a high after that result. Then he goes on to say we wouldn’t be practising penalties.

That is very unprofessional, Mr Ward.

He then appears on TV saying Leeds are a big team and were favourites.

What a great way to instil confidence in your team before a big game, I must say.

Finally, I must thank all the players who have had a wonderful season and wish them well for next term.

So come on Mr Ward - let’s have a bit more motivation and less negativity.
